Can You, or Can’t You - That is The Question

-Henry Ford
Henry Ford revolutionized the world by introducing the assembly line and the idea of breaking big tasks down into small, repeatable jobs. By doing so he was able to offer affordable transportation to the masses and earn himself a fortune in the process.
Henry Ford also said..
“Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs.”
So what does this mean?
You should take two things from the previous quotes:
- If you think you can do something, you can. If you think you can’t do something the chances are you won’t succeed in trying. It’s highly unlikely you’ll succeed if you don’t believe you can.
- If you have a big task in front of you, break it down into the simplest of jobs, and work on each job individually.
This “chunking down” of a big task into smaller jobs is highly effective. It is the cornerstone of mass production assembly lines.
Did you know Henry Ford actually used to get parts shipped in boxes that could then be used for floorboards on the Model T? It’s efficient thinking like this that made the automobile affordable, and allowed him to introduce mass production.
Using these two techniques you can get alot more done, and quicker too!
